Gee Bee Q.E.D. Flown by Lee Gehlbach Bendix Air Races 1934

Designed for endurance and speed, the Granville Gee Bee R-6 International Super Sportster, named "Q.E.D.,” represented the Granville Brothers Aircraft’s attempt to dominate the Bendix Trophy Race of 1934. The aircraft gets its name from the Latin phrase “quod erat demonstrandum,” meaning "it is proven." Flown by Lee Gehlbach, the aircraft featured cutting-edge engineering for its era, including a streamlined profile and improved fuel capacity for cross-country racing. While it showed promise, technical issues hindered its performance, forcing it to drop out of the race and never finish.
